Aaudd

A long time ago, before Time and before Man, Auran, the Plaenwalker, called out to the Greatest One, the Pleanmaker, Aurum.

Aurum, from his perch inside the stars and the sea and the earth, asked Auran why he was so troubled as to call out.

"Aelpader, Aelpader," said Auran in the Oldest Tongue, "Why must I enjoy the wonders of the Plaens when I am all alone? Surely it is in your power to create for me one with which to share this glory!"

Aurum pondered this and said, in the greatest voice of all Voices, Yes, that should be so, and as was his will, it was so, and from the depths of the vast brown plains rose a single sapling, and from the sapling emerged the first woman, and the first Maedr, Aaudd.

Auran and Aaudd met each others eyes, and from their Love burst forth all which the Plaen had been lacking-- the waters of the sea, the green grasses of the valley, the trees and flowers, the clouds and rain and lightning and life.

And All was well on the Plaen-- for a time.
